Okay so last week I put my book on the market. I have even managed to
sell a couple..YAY! However, since then I had an email telling me my
file size was wrong..so this morning I had to learn how to make the
file into a 6x9 instead of 8x11. I did get my copy yesterday of the
8x11 and in all honesty it is a truly beautiful book. I am actually
reading it all the way through which is what a proof copy is for. The
art work on the cover is gorgeous. The pic of it online just doesn't do it justice at all.
But let me tell you all of the down sizing is tough. You see when I
changed the size of the file it added more pages..a lot more as a
matter of fact..which threw off my table of contents..so I made a
choice..to delete the numbers of the table and just keep the
headings..do you guys think that'll be confusing? Some books don't
even have a table of content..I dunno I just thought I would share this..

LOL - yeah publishing is a lesson indeed! I actually did the downsizing before sending mine in (and I have sold a few too - YAY) but when I got the proof I realised that I never put a header page on it so it starts with the table of contents - which made the whole table of contents off by 1 page. I just went with it - one page is easy enough to catch for the reader - in your case - hmmm what type of book is it, what does the table of contents add to the book? If its a novel - nothing - if the chapters separate facts (stone vibrations pg 83, runes pg 18) then redo it. And YEH for you! and kudos too!
Barbara DacaI pray to Asherah that you manifest many many many blessings on your publication!
